G & S Electric has recently donated time and labor to PLC Charter School, located in Tolleson, AZ, to install a 32 KW solar system on the school’s gymnasium. The installed system is designed to help cut electricity costs and power the building, incluing the very important air conditioning system. The new solar system will save the school an estimated $5,000 anually in electricity costs.
For the project multiple local companies volunteered their time and the necessary materials to help the school. G & S Electric was pleased to be involved in the project and give back to the community. The time and labor donated by G & S accounted for approximately $20,000 in labor and materials.
Following the completion of the project the school held a dedication ceremony with students, parents, staff and the volunteer team that completed the installation. At the ceremony students were taught about solar energy and were able to ask questions about the project and how they can be more ‘green’ in their own lives.
The state of the art solar system is the first step in helping PLC Charter School achieve greater energy savings. School officials are planning on adding more solar panels to the campus in the future. G & S Electric is proud to help PLC Charter School reduce their carbon footprint and become more energy efficient.
